Vegan Red Velvet Donuts
Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. In a large mixing bowl combine dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Whisk until combined. In a separate medium bowl add Good Karma Unsweetened Flaxmilk + Protein and apple cider vinegar creating vegan “buttermilk”, set aside for 5 min. Next add vegan butter, vanilla extract and red food coloring to the buttermilk mixture. Stir to combine. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until well incorporated and no flour streaks remain. Don’t overmix.
Spoon or pipe the batter into 2 well greased donut pans, leaving a little space at the top for rising
Bake the donuts for 15-17 min or until golden. Allow donuts to cool slightly before removing them from the pan.
To glaze the donuts: mix powdered sugar, Good Karma Flaxmilk and vegan cream cheese together until smooth. Dip, drizzle or brush glaze onto the donuts and top with valentine’s-themed sprinkles and icing if desired. Repeat until all donuts are covered. ENJOY!
